I love this photo. It's from 2012, right before we opened our retail store in downtown Biddeford, and it captures so much...overflowing excitement to the point of dancing to Christmas music with the dog, while doing our best to push away the big questions on our minds: "What have we gotten ourselves into?!!" And, "Is this really going to work?"
It is with those same mixed feelings that we announce the beginning of the next chapter for Tote Road. As of December 23, we will be closing the retail portion of our business. Our purpose in doing so is to be able to remove some overhead and shift our focus more toward wholesale, online sales, custom orders, and fairs. We will be continuing to have a presence in several local shops as well. All of our products will continue to be made in Maine from our home in Gorham.
We wish all of our Biddeford friends good success! Though we will miss seeing your smiling faces in our retail shop, we hope you will feel free to contact us anytime for custom gifts and home decor.
